Helping Adults, Couples and Teens (especially People of Color) Feel Better
If you are struggling with feeling stressed and overwhelmed with everything going on, I understand how difficult that can be. You might feel so sad and tired with how hard everything is. You feel lonely or isolated in your relationships or that you have to do everything yourself.
Sometimes you worry so much that you feel panicky and scared. You might hate how you’re feeling and be too hard on yourself.
You might feel guilty that you’re not being the best parent that you can be. You yell too much or feel resentful often. You might feel embarrassed to open up about what you’re really going through, even to family and friends.
Getting help from a therapist like me can help you talk freely about what’s bothering you.
Here Are Some Specific Challenges That I Can Help You With
As a Person (of Color) challenged with feeling stressed and overwhelmed with everything going on you may be feeling:
- Hurt, sad and mad about the things people say to you
- Helpless or hopeless about things ever getting better
- Out of control over your own emotions
- Anxious and stressed about the negative state of the world, and really could use some support
- Disappointed that there’s never enough time, or never enough YOU to go around, and no one who’s really there for you
If you are feeling overwhelmed with feelings like these, Individual Therapy can help.
As Your Woman of Color Therapist, I Can Help You Feel Better
I'm Cindi Rivera and I'm a Woman of Color Therapist who is uniquely qualified to help you Feel Better. Early in your work with me you will begin to feel better and have a stronger sense of how to manage your emotions. I can help you to deal with the areas of your life that are most important to you and most personal (work, family, career, relationships, yourself) – and the challenging experiences of your past, present and future. I listen deeply, help you to hear your own hidden voice, offer insights that you may not have considered before, help you learn to express yourself fully and in positive ways, so you feel empowered to improve your important relationships, or move forward in the areas of your life that matter most.
My clients say they learn new ways of thinking, feeling, doing and being; they feel better about themselves; they feel freer in their lives; they get unstuck; and they experience my acceptance and lack of judgment as something very healing and calming to them when they work with me.
When you talk to me I will be very empathic and present to whatever your concerns are; listening deeply to you and your story and even listening beyond to what might not be able to be spoken out loud.
I’ll inquire about your childhood, relationship history, work life and important influencers in order to see patterns of self-defeating behaviors. Then I gently challenge those behaviors so you can live the life you deserve to live. I’ll help you get comfortable with your own range of emotions. I offer mindfulness skills and tools, to bring some relief to what is most painful.
You can share your concerns with me and I will help you to hold them and understand them. We’ll move at a pace that is comfortable for you toward a greater sense of peace, building more effective communication so you can talk more authentically, be listened to better and feel more satisfaction in your life.
